“The older I get, the less I know” is that old folk wisdom that can creep up on a person. The waiting, seems to be the meat on the bone in the story of a life. Often, in these junctures is where all the questions are asked. We especially wonder if it will all work out and the not knowing feels pretty uncomfortable. Similarly, as I moved into a yoga posture this week it dawned on me that we are in the in between; that’s why it all feels too heavy, like it’s just too much to carry. This is when we breathe into the stretch, continue patterns of peace, and lean in to find that sweet surrender. Hurrying and worrying won’t get us there, because this is the work, this is right where we are supposed to be and like the poet Wendell Barry said, “we arrive at the ground at our feet and learn to be at home”
